As a young Chef Yurii travelled throughout Europe including a stint in London, where he learned that cooking is about stimulating many of the senses – touch, sight and smell along with taste.
All the while, Yurii harboured a fierce ambition to open a restaurant where his heart was – in Kyiv – and to showcase the cuisine of his land.Both ambitions were met when he became chef patron at Hey Guys, one of Kyiv’s most famed restaurants, which now has a reputation for combining unusual flavours with stunning plating.
Another of his ambitions was to launch his own cookbook which he proudly presents to you today. In the book you will find 9 of his favourite ingredients turned into mouth watering dishes for the home cook.
Yuri launched this book during the conflict with Russia and has teamed up with Simon Boyle From Beyond Food Foundation in London, which will ensure that 50% of the income generated from the sales of the book will be sent to Come Back alive a charity based in Ukraine to support the armed forces Simon has also contributed 9 of his favourite recipes to the book
